I bought a mf135 and was told it was Canadian. Now I think it may be an English import. The serial number is#452180. Is there a list of serial numbers somewhere for these machines? any info on this tractor (such as the model year, etc.)would be appreciated. Are parts available and can I get a shop manual somewhere?? thanks

Thanks to all for your help. From the list of serial numbers on a post by Bob 4/7/00 I have determined that my tractor is a 75. Happy about that and happy with the tractor. Seems like a "bear"! Ray

I have a '73 MF-135 UK, and have no problem with parts. As Jack in NB said, the power steering and front end are unique, but most everything eles is the same. Also, you got a much haevier front axel than the domestic model!

Great tractor.

Bob

If the serial number isn't listed, what do I have? any ideas? perhaps some other identifying numbers elsewhere? It has a lucas generator which, I am told, makes it English. Will all massey 135 parts fit this tractor???

Hi.

Sounds like a 135 UK. Probably has two lights (with bulbs, not sealed beams) in plastic shrouds mounted on the front grill too.

Nearly everything is interchangeable, except steering box parts.

BareCo site in Australia has a great illustrated parts listing:
Link

Lots of parts - new and used - available, and our hosts have manuals (MF reprints and I&T series) - both good, and cover everything but the steering box (and possibly the Standard 87 mm gas engine, which is rare!).

Great tractor!

Thanks for the help!!! and you are right, the lights are in plastic shrouds on the grill! Have had a few dealers tell me to stay away from this tractor because it is UK (no parts available etc.)
but i bought it anyway! It runs strong, was in good shape and the asking price was fair ( I thought). The owner says near as he knows it was a 70's tractor, but I'm guessing 60's. Do you have any idea as to the year? thanks again

I have a list of serial numbers for the British 135's. 1975 models went from 445607 to 457865. I got this from "BOB" posted on this forum April 7th 2000..We have a 1974 Brit and have had no problem getting parts for the Lucas starter or anything we needed. Ours is a good machine , Happy with it..Ray-s
