can someone please help me on the thing about perkin,s cylinder head,s that might crack on the massey V8 tractor,s?
Ive just about been to the end of the earth on looking at these thing,s , and all over them as i havent seen alot around this area in ks,
and the one,s I have seen are either all shot, or the people that know about them say to not get one , cause youll be in for alot of dissapointment,
I dont think so ,
The tranny in the 20000 serie,s ?
is it redoable if you have the up dates to do it with, and are they available at the dealer,s still?
Or? Is the Multipower tranny on the 1000 serie,s
a better bet as far as using it all the time?
Ive driven both, and the older serie,s seem,s alot more simple, but I dont know without trying one out again in Multi?
When i drove that 2745,
I was looking for a gear that was not so slow that i couldnt get it going, , so I started out in 5th , or 6th, and away I went down the road,
both one,s are fun to drive, but the 2745 is like a control tower glass all around you , kinda strange in a way, But then neat too,
The 1155 was right now alot more sensible it seem,s to live with on a day to day basis,
But then finding one in decent cond is another thing,
Kirk C,

We currently have a 1155 that we use to bale (4x6) with before that was it was used to row crop in the hill ground in NE Ks not any problems with the big V8, other than finding a loader to fit the tractor. It has a dealer installed turbo that was put on at the original purchase. I've heard some pretty negative things about the 2745 but have never experienced one except to test drive.

If I could find one in good cond, for a decent price,
Id grab it, tired of looking at dealer's for their jacked up price's,

I found one and snatched it up. Alot of people give a bad rap to the rear ends, but we have not had a single problem. The intermediate setting in the 24 speed is the direct drive. Any lugging should be done here and after the correct speed has been selected for the item in tow. The other thing is never use any reverse gear higher than 4 on the H shifter. I have always used 1st or 2nd for reverse. Gotta take care of the tractor and use care when driving them. Change out the filters and use the proper hydro fluids. People can claim what they like, but ours are still going like the day they were delivered.

Amen Brother,
that's the way it is , totally,
that'as why i like Massey so much and Not IH's ,
IH I know have bad rear end's and i know they will go out for no reason , cause ive talked to people, and they said it was too mucch money to work on them for an IH that's bad,
Id have all three massey V8's an 1805 an 760 later model,an 1150 an 1155, plus the 2000 serie's too,
three cheer's for the red and white triple triangle,
