Is there anybody out there with experience of attatching a loader belly bracket to a Massey 35?

I have a MF 38 loader and am confused about how to connect its belly bracket to the belly of the tractor. I have searched high and low for information regarding this but in vain.

On the underside of the tractor just in front of the steering wheel I can see 4 bolts that hold a plate and gasket in place. This is the only obvious place that the bracket attatches. Is this correct?....and if so..... if the plate is on the underside of the transmission and has a gasket surely i am going to get covered in oil when i remove it.

Of course it may be that this is not the correct place or way to mount this bracket. I would welcome any experienced advice.

Finally got round to mounting the bracket today and all is well. No huge surge of oil from the clutch housing..... ....phew!!!.

Luke all the information you have been given by others is spot on...remove the inspection plate from underneath and in the 4 exposed holes fit 4 studs as are used to hold on the swinging drawbar base plate...these are much better then the set bolts which some people use...screw them in TIGHT..tight studs don't break where as slack ones do as is the case if you fit set bolts...I have fitted many loaders and this the path I have used for many years....a tip I picked up from one of the MF service instructors...Happy loader fitting..Best regards...Geoff

Easy-on loaders used that area for mounting. Check the hole pattern on the bracket. I'm not sure if there is oil there or not.

I was just thinking that that plate is under the clutch so it shouldn't have oil. At leasst I think it's under the clutch. Loosen a bolt and see if oil comes out. It should be dry if it's under the clutch.

Luke...Do you have the rear mounting brackets that fit under the axle and into the ends of the loader frame?
I have the parts manual from 1969

I have the rear brackets. It has to be said that they have seen some action and are a little bent. I imagine it is quite hard to find replacements so i will have to do at the moment.

Good luck with your mounting. I wouldn't buy any more hoses from Napa though. Hydraulic hose shops should be way cheaper.

Thankyou for everyone's help on this one. I did not get around to mounting the bracket today but i did test the hydraulics. I had 2 new hoses made up at the local Napa garage..... ....$70 for 2x4' hoses ouch!. I cleaned the Control Valve which had 40 years worth of grime on it.....then fitted it.... Connected it with the cylinders and up they went plus the 3 point seems to operate aswell which is good news.
