Quit teasing me. Tell us where it's at so I can get to it first. That tractor just became even more desirable in my mind.

The independent pto was also offered as an option in the US also. My grandfather had one. I have seen very few of them.

Hi Rick,
The lever-only operated PTO is the Independant version (IPTO). I believe that it was offered as an option in the UK. Yes it's a good option to have but going back to my first reply, make sure it stops when disengaged. There is a small brake pad which acts on the clutch plate drum to prevent it turning in neutral. This pad wears and becomes less efficient. As to operation they give little trouble, the pad being more common. If you can try a heavyish implement on the PTO to make sure you have good drive as well.

Hi

Independent PTO is a good feature easyer to operate
you can put it on and off on the go. But.... I bough a MF-135 with independant PTO few years ago we tried
the PTO on a hay baler and it seemed to work fine.

When I hooked it to the rotovator it slipped and
even dont turn the rotovator when engaged in the soil. Lucky me....The PTO pump input oil filter was clogged and damaged. I changed the filter and rear end oil and voila...the PTO no longer slips it can kill the engine if rotovator is too deep in the soil. If the IPTO clutch pack is defective it cost over $1000 just in parts to rebuilt it and I dont know if parts still available.

If I have to buy an used MF I wd avoid buy one with multi-power and/or IPTO there are the weakest
component on these tractors..otherwise MF are very
good utility long lasting trouble free tractors.

For the IPTO brake it is not intended to stop a turning implement it is for keep the shaft stopped
when you hook up the implement shaft. When operated we must idle the engine then disengage the IPTO.. this way the brake will not try to stop the implement inertia...this brake pad it mini tiny fragile and weak.

Who knows the previous owner may never used the IPTO and may be almost new ???

Just my 2 comment
