Why do you think MF put the "Constant Pumping" (which I never use) on the front half of the Position Control quadrant and the "Position Control" (which I often use) on the back, more inaccessible half. It would have made much more sense if it were the other way round. The onl;y use for constant pumping that I know of is for the "Pressure Control Coupler". Does anyone know of any other uses?

Sorry, I used the wrong word.I meant Pressure Control and not Constant pumping. I often use constant pumping for tip trailers and fork lifts. It's the Pressure Control part that I think has very little use and therefore does not deserve such larg and accessible part of the setup. They could have put position control on the front half and pressure control on the back.

Hi, As you may know Pressure Control varies the pressure in the system to lift the rear linkage from approx 500psi to 3000 psi. The Constant Pumping section is at the top centre because it is easier to go from full PC pressure to CP in terms of the linkage required inside the cover. Having to lower the lever to full drop or minimum PC would add a lot of complications. It is a bit difficult after using a non-PC tractor for a while, but you soon get used to it. As the other people have said, CP comes into its own when you have a loader or similar fitted.

If you had a loader on the tractor that worked off the tractor"s own hydraulic pump, you would need to have it running on constant pumping.

Install a diverter valve to run remote hydraulics and you"ll need "constant pumping" to provide readily available pressure to remotes.

Never ever used it, always figured that I'd find out what it is for but never got around to it.

I hope somebody can enlighten us.
