1960 MF 303 work bull

Good morning All.

I have visited this site many times for the information provided, but now I need specific help.
I have a 1960 MF 303 work bull with backhoe and loader attachments, it has a shuttle cluch. Last night I started up the tractor and it ran for 1 or 2 seconds and shut down. It does this one in a while, all I have to do is to replace a fuse next to a gage (tempeture I think) and he starts right up. Well, last night he didn"t. It turns over just fine so I"m guessing no spark. There is fuel. I could find no shorts and the ignition points looked ok. I did use a tester to see if any juice was comming through the where the fuse would normally be and could not get any reading when cranking the engine. I know it"s got to be something simple, but what?
