MF 235 Steering Slip and Clutch Problem

Just ran across a problem with my recent purchase, an MF235 diesel with a front-end loader and power steering. It steered just fine for a few weeks then started ignoring right-hand turns once in a while. Sometimes it bounces right back. Other times it takes 4 or 5 turns of the wheel before it "catches." Almost cost me the corner of my pole barn the other day. Luckily the brakes are better than the steering... Is this the same problem I read about on an earlier post about 5 months ago regarding a loose/worn bolt on the steering coupling? Sounds like an easy enough fix if it is. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, am I looking at a clutch replacement if it moves along just fine in low range, but takes a while to get it going in high range?

Thanks,
John

John I have had steering trouble with a 235 I had for several years, sold now.If you check the archives there were some discussion about it.Notorious for bad steering, seals went in mine, twice.Check for fluid leaking around the steering arms out of the pump.Fluid could be low as well?
Good luck,
Naz
