Hi, i know this was not a option on the 1130 but i also know they made a SELENE conversion for some of the tractors up to the 1080. My question for the guys who have been into the 1130 trans before ( i have had to tear a 1130 down that far yet) is there any possible way to get live ground speed power on a 1130? I know it is probally not practical to put mfwd on the 1130 but i just want to do it cuz i love the 1130 and 4wd would be nice, and cuz its a challange, i have access to all the tools needed. All i need to know is if its possible to get ground speed power, the rest of the conversion would be easy. Also curious in whats inside that little cover on the bottom rear housing right above the drawbar?? Thanks Ryan

I have an 1100 and an 1130. Belive me with the ground on my farm I would have 4wd for those tractors if it were available or could be made. I think the cover you mentioned gives you access to the park pawl. I had a JD 60 for a while that was 4wd but that was a hydraulic live front.

Yeah, if yours tractors have the ground speed PTO it could be done, but then you lose the 540 pto when in 4wd. I thought about the Hydraulic drive but i don't like the looks of that and don't like the idea of more hyd. stuff.

That ground speed pto isn't a real heavy duty system that is why later models didn't have it.

That is probally true. I was looking at the big dealer manuals that i have for it, and if a man could get a good have gear or sprocket on the pinion shaft where the ground speed pto gear goes or the park gear on mine. I ain't sure but if that was possible to get a gear on there and then get that power transfered to the outside of the housing or down through that rear housing bottom center cover, or where the parking pawl is i guess. i think i could be done. What do you think??

Well, i was doing some more looking and that cover on the bottom of the rear center housing is just a cover, the parking pawl cover is on the left side of the rear housing. In knowing this and knowing how the parking pawl works, i am going to assume that getting power off that gear should be pretty possible. My next question is would that pinion gear be strong enough to run the fwd, and how would i gear the things to work together. I can get the front axle from a MF 4360 or something like that but i don't know what ratio they have????? ? Any other comments or suggestins?????

Ryan....when you get it all figured out on how to drive this thing let me know!!!....I have a MF 1155 that needs a MFWD on it!!! You can't stop this thing....you hit a hard spot and it just keeps clawing and scratching....rpms just stay at 2200 and it just smokes alot more!!! All the 2000 series masseys had a plate on the bottom you took of and it drove a drop box.....wish they had that on the 1130's...1135's and 1155's. Keep me posted thanks
