65 Hydraulic Pump Rebuild Kit Questions

I"m rebuilding the hydraulic pump on my 65 (older style without the strainer)and the Piston assemblies are quite a bit different than the originals. The ones that came off the tractor didn"t have any piston rings and had three grooves on the piston, while the new ones have a single groove and came with rings. Also, the two piston assemblies I was sent have the ring groove in different places-one set has the groove in the middle of the piston, while the other has it towards the end.

Are the new pistons the real replacement for this pump? They appear to fit the piston chambers. Also they bulge out at the corners while the old ones didn"t do this, although I"m not sure if this is a critical issue or not.

Any quidance is appreciated.

Randy

Randy, That is an MF substitution-started many
years ago. I'm not sure why the grooves are in
diff locations though. My (thought only)is that
it shouldn't matter but it is strange?? Chuck
