Hi,
I ran my Perkins diesel AD3-152 out of fuel for the first time today. I have now spent six hours reading my manuals and researching the archives on this forum, and I guess I'm dumb as a rock. I realize I need to bleed the air out, and I think I understand the procedure, but I don't think my lift pump is working. How can I tell? It doesn't seem to offer any resistance when I operate it. I also can't identify which screws on the pump and filters are the ones to loosen to do the bleeding. Can I do this with the battery and starter, or will it take too long for the battery? Pull starting is not really an option due to location. I'd really appreciate any help!! I can post some pictures I took of the filters and pump if someone can help identify the bleed points.

Your fuel pump may be on the lobe of the camshaft. if so bump starter and try pumping. May have to bleed filters but i try the small screws on the pump first. One is on the main body and one on the side of the top on my ad 203. If you have trouble cracking the lines at the injector ,You can bleed the line at the pump. Some times it is hard to get them bled.
