I have a Massey Ferguson 97 LP. It has a hand clutch, someone had adjusted it previously and it would not lock in, now iw will lock in but it slips only when in all the way, if you hold back on it a little it is fine. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated

Doddsracing is correct. If you do not know the procedure, basically you remove the rectangular plate on the side and you can reach in, pull a lock pin, and rotate the complete finger unit - it's on threads, 2 clicks (clockwise from the rear of the clutch)

This is the same as the minneapolis , when you adjusted the clutch so it would lock in,do you know how many clicks you moved it? If it only slips when it is all the way in you should be able to move it about 2 more clicks and make it hold ,you don`t have to move it much to make it hold, the clutch lever should snap in pretty firm, but should not take two hands to do so.

Massey 97, If you don't get the info you need I suggest you go to the Minneapolis Moline page as this is a MM 705/706. They may have more info for you. If that doesn't do it I am sure that this page will work. Roger Link
