I am trying to replace the front input shaft bearing in the gearbox of a MF 1051 Rotary Cutter. I have removed the back cover of the gearbox (round cover held in place by a snap ring), but what next? This gives easy access to the rear bearing, but not the front one. It doesn't seem possible to remove the input shaft through the rear opening because the bevel gear on the vertical shaft blocks the bevel gear on the input shaft from moving rearward. Does the input shaft separate into two pieces? Any clue as to the next step would be greatly appreciated!
