I have a MF 65 ssn SNM671193. I just finished replacing the O-rings on the throttle and stop shaft arms. I was very careful not the streach the spring and I remembered that it was hooked in the second hole. Once I hooked everything up and bleed the lines I tried to start the tractor. All was going great about getting the air out of the lines until i come to the step to loosen two of the pressure lines to the injector connection, and cranked the engine. Usually fuel will spurt out at the connection and then i would just tighten the connection up and the tractor would start up just fine. No fuel is spurting out. I have ever intention to fix this problem. (I'm just stumped on how to fix it) Any clue what to do next, soon I will have to take 58 miles away just to hae someone to look at it. I'm e-mailing you from Kentucky.

There are two bleed screws on the pump body itself which should be loosened in sequence, first the bottom and then the top.
You've done this, and your still not getting fuel to the injectors?

You say the spring was hooked in the 2nd hole. How about the other end of the spring? Shich hole was it in? Did you write down the settings for both ends of the spring? Did you set up the proper linkage on the cut off? Maybe you have not truned the fuel on. Get back with some more details. Tom

Thanks for the quick responce.

Both were in the second hole, fuel was turned on, I insured the shutoff pin was in the "J" hook of the shutoff rod inside was connected. The pin on the shutoff shaft is also on the outboard side of the cover. I"m beging to beleive that the pump is just bad.

I assume the pump was working and that you were just stopping the leaks in the cover around the throttle and cutoff shafts. If so, then you have not changed anything on the pump, and therefore I really doubt it has gone out. How about your lift pump, when you pump it by hand do you get good squirts of fuel with no bubbles at the two bleed ports? I have changed the o-rings and never had to crack a line at the injectors, just bleed at the 2 pump bleeders. Do you have a real MF manual that you are following? Do you have someone to help you bleed it? My MF-690 has the lift pump on one side of tractor and the bleeders on the other side and takes 2 people to bleed it properly. Why do you think the pump has suddenly just gone out? Tom

The injection pump was working when i took off the cover. Checked the hand pump by removeing the line coming out leading to the filters, cranked the engine watch the fuel being pump out the hole. Yes I have the service manual, parts manual, and the owners manual to go by. Had three people yesterday trying to get to work right we all have tractors and we all bleed the lines.

My grandfathers one 65 did something similar. Ran great when I started it last. Next time would not start. Found no fuel at the injector lines. Bled fuel system per I+T manual. Still no fuel. Took pump out to get looked at. it's gone to the point of no return, not rebuildable. Anything can happen with something this old, but while it seems unlikely, it could happen. He gave me the other 65 he had that they stole the pump off of. I tracked down a pump after hunting for 2 months. Put it on timed it, bled it, no fuel to the injector lines. Took it back off and sent to shop. Should know tomorrow how much to get it working. But hope yours is ok, beacuse hard internal parts are not available.
