I recently bought this tractor and the carb ran rich, now it's flooded (literally). Gas ran out the air filter, so I siphoned the gas out of the tank (too expensive to pour on the ground) and removed the carb. I can't find any numbers on the carb to id it so I can buy a rebuild kit for it (I assume that's what it's gonna need). All I've found on it is "Bendix" on the upper half of the body and "Zenith Made in USA" on the lower half.

there is a gas shutoff on top of the settling bowl over by the exhaust manifold, saves draining the gas tank

maybe your float has stuck, carb is dirt simple but keep it clean

without some sort of manual you are at a disadvantage, factory manuals cost but pay for them selves pretty soon

Okay, I finally found the number on the carb and ordered the rebuild kit from the local Napa. It should be here in the morning. I'm gonna take a stab at rebuilding it myself. I'll let ya'll know how it turns out.

Four parts are most important in your rebuild. The float, the float needle, the float seat, and the float seat gasket. Often the float needle and seat wear from vibration. Replace them both and then be sure that a little bit of pressure on the needle will shut off all the air pressure your lungs can put on the fuel inlet. Then check to be sure the float really floats. A first check is to shake it. If it sloshes inside, you have leaks. You can try to solder them but you will get it too heavy. You can maybe seal it with a sealer like SealAll, or you can look for a new float.

You will have to adjust the float height for proper float bowl gasoline depth because that affects the mixture at all engine speeds. There's where you will need a manual.

Rebuilt the carb, runs a lot better now than it did before. Nothing to it, really.
