There is a bolt plug near the shifter.
If I open this what should I be looking for?
Should it be full of transmission fluid?
If so what type of fluid should I use?
Thank you
Michael

Michael, My copy of original manual shows the main
trans case holds 2 gallons-fill plug top-towards
front of case. Check plug is on left of trans.case
on the side-back somewhat further than the fill
plug. The 22 is unlike the 30 and larger with one
big reservoir. The 22 has seperate for belt pulley
hsg, main trans case, diff. housing. When new these
used SAE 140 in summer SAE 90 in winter but oils
have changed. But I believe a GL 5 90 gear lube
would be good. Chuck

Yes it has one plug (square protruding socket) to the top left of the stick shift and I also believe it has another plug (square but socket is sunk in type).

So unbolt the one to the top left of the shifter plate. Now should it be completely full?

Thank you very much,
Mike
