I am looking to set up a hyd log splitter on my MF35. I seem to remember a kit with a top plate that goes over the standpipe. Does anyone have this setup? I am trying to avoid a seperate engine driven log splitter so I don"t have another engine to keep running. thanks!

davistractor.com has the selector / isolator valves. It looks the same as we have on our UK 135. we run a two spool control on a front end loader. Works good but slow with the internal pump. Ray-s

Equipment Manufacturing in Wenatchee, Washington makes the block that replaces the plate on top of the stand. 509-663-7672. Put that on and set the lever at constant pumping. I put one on my MF-135 6 years ago with two single-acting valves and am running a front blade. It all works great.

The oil supply from the pump on the 35 should be OK provided that it is in good condition and the filter is clear. However the cycle time will depend on the diameter of the ram. My splitter on my 135 has a 4" bore, but a relatively short stroke, or of course you might have a smaller bore with a long stroke but requiring a similar amount of oil. Suggest you connect the splitter direct first and judge the response time.

Machine:

There are remote valves available that bolt to the lift cover in place of the block-off plate that allow connection to remote hydraulic equipment. Both single and dual valves are available but I do not recommend this arrangement for a log splitter because you will probably not be satisfied with the cycle time due to the limited capacity of the tractor hydraulic pump.

That said, I have a dual remote valve that I removed from one of my MF-35s that I will sell if you insist upon operating your log splitter this way.

Email is open if you are still interested.
