Probably a Massey Ferguson 65? I adjusted that turnbuckle on mine about 1/2 of a thread and got the left side steering back. That's the real easy fix, if it works. Make sure you power steering reservoir has enough fluid, too. For the best info go to Big Dean's web site:

That problem is common on older Masseys. Look behind the grill for a turnbuckle adjuster. The pins at each end are worn. There needs to be very little slop in the fit of these pins. Then you can get it to steer easily in both directions.

My 65 has slop in the turnbuckle as well. I have yet to disassemble it to see what is worn. Is there a quick fix to tighten this up? TIA Aaron

Aaron,

I have brazed the holes in the ends of the turnbuckle shut, then re-drilled them. As for the pins, I guess anything you could find - nail, kotter key?? Material really won't matter(for a quick fix) just needs to be the right diameter to eliminate the slop.

There is another way to cheat. There is a large lock nut up by the steering cylinder. It holds a pretty big set screw from turning. Loosen the lock nut and turn the set screw out maybe a quarter to half turn. That will make the "stroke" of the actuating valve longer. This method will give more free - play at the steering wheel, so it may be harder to keep the tractor in the middle of the road at higher speeds.
