I am trying to install hydraulics on a Massey Ferguson 245(model year unknown)tractor with a Perkins Diesel engine. I need some help in trying to get this to work. I have installed the kit on my tractor but it doesn't seem to work correctly. I have checked and rechecked the hydraulics lines to make sure that they work. Everything seems to be in working order. I have connected the hydraulics to a New Holland Hay Baler, I can raise the back door but I cannot get the door to lower back down. If anyone can help me, please let me know.

You may need to install a spool valve to reverse the flow of oil to close the tailgate. That's what I did on a MF135.Does the baler use hyd. to tension the bales? You may need a valve that is detented so it will stay were you put it and not have to hold it.Remember that if the cylinders are double acting that when oil goes in one side the oil on the other side of the piston must be able to go out the other side. Have you only got the valve under the seat? Hope this helps.

it could be you have a single acting valve on a baler that has to have pressure to close the tail gate I have had that problem before.
