I don't know what you used to clean it but you should use the stuff that comes in a gallon can with the parts tray and you need to soak it in there for at least 24 hrs. A really clean carb is the secret to a good rebuild. All the passages have to come clean. By the way, how did you conclude that the carb was the problem? Having to run with the choke on can be caused by a weak ignition as well as an air leak downstream of the carb metering system. Could be the carb wsn't the problem. Make sure that you have a fat, bluish spark. If you don'tfind out why and fix it. If you do have afat bluish saprk, look for a leak from the throttle shaft, the carb to intake connect flange or the intake manifold to head connect flange ot the intake manifold itself. If you eliminate the ignition and air leakage, then the carb coud be the problem.

Main jet is still clogged. Did you use a small wire to clean out all the passage ways?? My self I use a torch tip cleaner when doing carbs. The carb is a simple one but can drive you nuts some times. BTDT and I still have one on a MH30 that isn't working right but I haven't had time to get back to it yet.
