A while back I posted questions on the hydraulics on my 65 massey. Lifts ok but wont hold anything up, just goes right back down. I pulled it all apart found the standpipe 'O' rings were bad so thought that was the problem until I noticed some pieces laying in the bottom.Upon retreiving them they were pieces of one of the piston yokes. So I got 2 new yokes and piston rings and o ring kit. Put it all together, It still does the same thing! Only now it chatters on the way up! So I drained some oil out and opened side cover. When the tractor is running there seems to be a flood of oil coming down from the top, Is this normal? The oil is being pumped up the standpipe, then where?I guess it has to return somewhere? Also the little oscillator does nothing that I can see, it simply protrudes out into the air. Maybe there something missing on this pump. Hopefully I can get the picture to appear. Thanks for any comments.

If you have oil running down from the top you either have bad lift piston rings, a scored cylinder, an O-ring blown between the lift cylinder and the liftcover, lift cylinder to liftcover bolt or bolts loose or broke. Also you probably have a bad pump control valve that is the number one cause for them to leak down when the PTO clutch is released or the engine is shut off. If I can be of further help email me

OK, I give up. I've searched for a long time and no information on how to add a photo to your post.
