Starter for MF 35 needed.

The starter on my '64 MF-35 is kaput and it's seen its last rebuild. I haven't been able to locate a replacement. It's a 3-cyl Perkins diesel. The starter is a CAV, DES No. 1320513. 3-bolt, no solenoid attached. Does anyone have a line on where I might look? I need to get back to mowing! Thanks everyone.

Hello Travis -

If you're in North America, there is a whole fleet of Delco starters that will fit.

All numbers start with "110":
1107503
7512
7540
7853
7860
7870
8662
8649
8397 (shorter - 9" body)

I don't know what the differences are, but they are all on Perkins A152, A203 and the later AD engines. They do have top-mounted solenoids.

Dealers having access to A&I, Sparex or Bareco should be able to acess them. Try this site - they are A&I dealers.
