I am restoring a 1100. Its not mine, andI know nothing about any massey tractors, anything I have ever worked on is green... Anyways It will not shift into park. If the engine is on or off the lever will not move to the left to get into the park slot. The owner told me to be careful because it sometimes will go into park if you hit the lever hard enough or just the right way, but then its a bear to get it back out. I am guessing linkage adjustment? Am I right? If so can someone give me an idea how to adjust this. Thanks a ton!

This is a long shot but it just might work. We had one with a similar problem, although it wasn"t park that was the problem, it was one of the other gears ( I forgot which one! ) it would not shift into. If you take the side panel off by the gear levers you will find a grease nipple ( zerk ? )which lubricates the shaft along which the main gear lever slides. Because it is behind that sheet of tin, it hardly ever gets greased. then while it is off, give the linkages a squirt with WD40. Thats what we did and everything was fine after that.

I've got a 1130 with the same problem I'm restoring right now as well..... On the left side (when sitting on the tractor)between the tranny and fuel tank there is a set of linkages that operate the parking brake dog. Take some PB Blaster and shoot all the linkages moving parts....I'm sure yours is like mine just froze up with rust....Mine wouldn't go into park and now works great.....Good luck
