hello there, i bought a 70's MF 200 crawler/dozer/loader that had been sitting in a field for 10 years and after getting everything restored and working properly the one thing i can not get to work are the brakes (steering)... i was told to keep working them and they would come back to life but after days of driving around the yard, pulling so hard on the levers, and checking and double checking all the adjustments i still can not get them to work well enough that i could run the thing without straining as hard as i have to now...
do these things have wet or dry brakes , i noticed a drain plug (bolt) on the bottom of the brake drum houseing so i opened then and one had a little bit of thick, thick , black sludge come out while the other side had real black oil...
is this oil and or sludge supposed to be there or has it leaked in from the clutchs over the years...
still waiting for a manual but hoped someone here can be so kind as to tell me how to get these things working...
thank you
mark

also is it a big job to take then out, can they be taken out through the inspection cover...
does anybody no of somewhere i could call and talk to someone about these old machines, even the local massey dealer looked at me like i was from outerspace or i had 3 heads...
thank you once again

HI I sold some parts to a guy ho have 200 mass and he check mine on rack he told he has the same and you have to take off the chaine and all final drive to pull out the stering cluch but before check the outher side if he has oil inside and if you had wet stering cluch you should have 2 gallons oil each side and the oil should came by top plate or bad seal bevelgear.
