Hello I have a broken fuel gauge on my 1085.Can anyone tell me how much fuel she uses per hour. I just need a general guidline to go by until I have time to fix it.If I put 40 gallons in the tank will it run 40 hours? What would the hour to gallon ratio be.I'm kinda thinking about 2 hours of operation to every 1 gallon of fuel.Does anybody have some input on this.I don't want to run this out of fuel.I just need a rule of thumb to keep me from running out of fuel...Thanks,

Dale

Dale, you have the ratio method backwards; you say "hours per gallon". The correct way is "gallons per hour". My MF-690 is 67 PTO HP and burns about 1.3 GPH doing misc chores. Tom

Ratios work either way. When I put 3 gallons in my Kubota I want to know about how many hours per gallon. But I do check my fuel level when making other regular checks.

MAYBE he has a hybrid(battery power)to expect those kind of numbers.Like was said below just fill it up every 5-6 hours, because even at half HP load he will burn 4 to 7+ GPH.Also what ever happened to TAKING THE CAP OFF AND LOOKING in the tank,We did that for more years than I care to remember and still do.Unless he has to drive it to town to get fuel WHATS the PROBLEM??

I suggest you just buy a fuel gauge....they are cheap and it takes all the guess work out of it..... if your that worried about running out of fuel!!! My 1135 will run about 12 hours on 50 gallons of fuel pulling a 15ft JD 750 no-till drill..... not a hard pull.
