The alternator has been checked by auto parts house and test to be ok. Inline fuse in hot wire from alternator is good. Tractor has a new voltage regulator. Still no charge. What are some other things which could be causing the system not to charge?

Normally generators have an external voltage regulator but not alternators. Alternators do have an indicator light on the dash that also plays a part in activating the alternator. If basic checks by an auto electrician do not provide an answer it is cheaper to buy a new alternator off the shelf or get one from a scrap yard because they are so plentiful these days. Not a very technical answer I'm afraid!

The late 100 series tractors that came with and alternator does have an external regulator. The regulator is excited by the oil pressure switch on the back of the oil pressure gauge. I would check it to see if both wires are connected to it if they are with the engine not running you should have fire going to one of the terminal of the switch when you start the engine and the oil pressure comes up both terminals should have fire going to them. If they both have fire check the plug on the voltage regulator for corrosion they are bad about corroding and not make contact. IF it is not one of these things and you know both the alternator and regulator are good you either have something wired wrong oor a loose or broke wire. hope this help if I can be of further help email me I have a drawing showing where the wire are supposed to be connected I can email it to you
