I am looking at a MF 275 I think, but it doesnt have all of the ID panel below the steering wheel(rusted out). Is there another # or set of #s that I can run through to be sure it is a 275 and not a 265, 255.
Thanks

The 265 and 275 both share the perkins 4.236 engine, however the fuel pump settings are different so the injector pump test plan numbers on the serial plate on the injector pump will differ, but you will still have to find another 265 or 275 to compare to get a positive id. On the 565/575 tractors which were mechanicly similar the tyre and wheel sizes were larger on the bigger tractor, but options for different markets makes using that for an id inaccurate.

Not sure = the short answer. This site says they were made in 1974 and '75. The engine 'should' have a tag that at least has the size on it, compare to engines avail for that model, i.e. MF 255 had either a 203D or 236D. Got two 200 series bought new, both ID tags are clean and readable. My question is, do you want one that "rusted out"? It "may" indicate more than carelessness,....stolen?
