I want to thank everyone for the help before, but I do have a couple other questions on restoring a 1949 44-6.

1) For paint I was just wondering if someone had paint numbers that worked well or they thought were close. Also what parts are yellow other than the wheel rims? I can't tell on ours if the hubs and axles are both yellow as well?

2) I've been having a little trouble locating headlights. What kind did these tractors use? Two lights I have on the tractor say K-D something on them.

3) Does anyone have the numbers for the rear and front axle seals and the bearing numbers? I would kind of like to replace them if I'm going to the trouble of painting the tractor.

4) How does the stearing wheel come off? Mainly, does that piece in the center pry out. I couldn't tell if there was a piece pressed in the middle of the wheel over the nut. I think the keyway is loose in there so I need to get the wheel off anyway.

Lots of questions.

#1 Paint, Bright Yellow, PPG, MBC 3274 Red, PPG, MBC 70837C

I painted the hubs and lug nuts red on my Senior along with the rest. It looked pretty sharp against the yellow. I believe they were painted yellow with the rest of the rims. I believe the front and rear rims are the only things painted yellow.

#2. I can't help you with. I found a lens on ebay for my Senior

#3 For the axles seals and bearings, basically all you need is the OD dimensions, and the ID dimensions to a reputable bearing and seal place, and they'll fix you up. I got alot of my stuff from Napa.

#4 The steering wheel is attached with a taper pin thru the side of the hub of the wheel. They can be really miserable to remove. File the sides of the hub to determine which way the pin comes out, buy measuring the diameter of each side. With luck, it'll come out, but 9 times out of ten, you'll end up drilling it out.
