THIS 1250 WITH LOADER IS LIKE NEW, BUT HAS HAD A OIL LEAK. ONCE THE PAN WAS PULLED, WE FOUND TWO SMALL CRACK UP THE SIDE OF THE BLOCK ABOUT 3/4 INCH ON BOTH SIDES NEAR THE READ OF BLOCK WHERE IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS CAST TOGEATHER. WE SEEN WHERE SOMEONE HAD J B WELD THE CRACKS SOME TIME AGO. WE ARE THE 3RD ONERS OF THIS TRACTOR SINCE NEW, HAS 716 HOURS. HAS ANY ONE HAD THIS TROUBLE? WAS IT A FACTORY DEFECT? LOOKS LIKE IT WAS TO ME, AND WHO COULD WE CONTACK TO SEE IF IT WAS IN THE SHOP FOR OIL LEAK UNDER WARRENTY. THANKS CLYDE

Worked for a Massey dealer a few years. Most of these little tractors with backhoe or loader were abused and tend to breakout in the clutch housing or I guess block in your case. They were not dozers. I'd say that if it was repaired it was a home job as a dealer would have replaced the parts they get paid good money for warranty work and I have never seen one breakout without a loader or backhoe. So I would say no defect abuse.

This sounds like a structual problem that the 1200 series had when using a loader or backkhoe A frame needed to be built(two side rails) from the front axle support to the tranissmion case as the block would not stand the extra stress from the loader or backhoe. I happened to have been involved in such a situation. And sorry to say I don't think your MF dealer will be of much help. For your sake I hope I have misunderstood the situation!
