I found a M-H 81 over the weekend. It appears to be in fair condition and in need of a grill and rear wheels. Can anyone share some info on this model tractor?? Are they rare? Are they worth anything? It's a cute little tractor. I never heard of or saw one before. thanks in advance.

I have two of them, both 1945 stanard models. I bought one about three years ago for $800.00 Canadian and one about three weeks ago for $550.00 Canadian. These tractors were built in the Massey - Harris factory in Racine Wisconsin between 1941 & 1947 . They were about 18 horsepower and had a 124 Continental motor. An 82 was the Kerosine model. They were replaced by the Model 20 in 1947. It was much the same. It in turn was replaced by the 22 around 1949. It had slightly more power. The 81 was used to tow aircraft by the Canadian Airforce during World War II . There were around
6000 built. Massey called them a "Light Two Plow Tractor".
Hope this Helps !

81 Masseys came as Standards and Row Crops and could be ordered with a single caster wheel in front.
