No. With a Shur Seal (if avail) you would slide the axle out with the small outer hsg. Then slide
on the shur seal which would then seal off the
diff. oil and be a self contained outer unit. You
pack some grease in the bearing Hsg. Then you do
not have to deal with the shrink ring and the poss of ruining the Brg. The Shur Seal does sit with
an offset but probably not with the purpose of
running on a new surface?? It would make a real
easy job of it and the Brg doesn't usually wear
that bad unless lots of hours. There are shims on
the Axle hsg also. You do not want end play or to
be snug. Good luck finding a Shur Seal for a 35-
thats the question.

Outer seal,195677M1. Inner seal,195678M1. Outer
Cone,195675M1.Outer cup,300975M1. A Collar p/n
180596M1 is required. Gasket is 181232M1. The
collar is shrink on, needs to be torched or drilled and broken w/ chisel. New one heated when
installed . In my older books A "Shur Seal" was
avail for the earlier series but inquire if avail
now for the 35. Would save work if unit leaked but Brgs ok. This site may have Shur Seal. These MF
p/ns could be crossed at any Brg or parts store.

Thanks for the information !!!! One final question though, by a Shur Seal do you mean a offset seal to avoid the worn spot on the axle.....
