I was wondering if there is one kind of diesel that is better than the other. All i know of around here is regular diesel and dyed off road diesel. I already put 10 gallons of off road diesel in it. Is there a big difference and is one better than the other for it or should i be running an special addatives in it or anything?

The colour is a road tax thing. More importantly is the use of Ultra Low sulphur which can shrink seals and cause problems. The other one is biodiesel which is supplied in a number of blends ie 5% 10% 20% 40% or 100%. This contains treated vegetable oil or animal fats. I filled my 20 year old diesel car with 40% canola oil last night and it loves it sort of like liquid margarine. Rather pay the farmers than those Middle Eastern Shieks. BP is now adding 5% bio to their diesel to overcome ULS problems. Be careful using high percantages as it cleans the fuel system and can create blocked filters on old engines. It has a tendancy to swell rubber so offsets the damage done by ULS.

that old 97 will not care if it clear or red it is all clear to start with till they add the dye only reason it's red is that you can't run it in cars or trucks because you don't pay road tax on it and if you do run it and get checked it's 10,000.00 fine
