I recently bought an old Massey Ferguson Backhoe. Appears to be mid 60's and model number 9A. Can anyone tell me a site where I can find out more on the tractor, ie. tune-up specs etc.

Hi, I've recently bought a Massey Ferguson 50D backhoe and I'm after a front tail shaft. I'm also looking for a workshop manual and any info about this machine.

In a similar situation - Just picked up a used MF backhoe ('72). Decals indicate a 50C, however model number on all ID tags says MF300A. What gives?

Has auto trans, hi/lo ranges. Front bucket is tight, boom is loose; pins and bushings shot.

Any help locating owners manual etc. would be nice.

Regards,
Greg Sheppard

Hi Greg,

The MF300A is the model # of the backhoe unit itself. I have a complete set of manuals for the MF 50C laoder/backhoe if you need any specific info.

Whoops! Previous message not correct. Checked manuals and there is no mention of a MF300A. The MF50C had 3 possible loader models, one of which was the MF300. The possible backhoe models where the MF52, MF54, and MF54S. The MF50C was manufactured between 1979 and 1983.
