Hi guys, just brought my little 165 (its a 1978)not so long ago and replaced the seals on quick couplings. they were leaking and I collected the oil and thought it needed changing. SO went to the local farm shop brought 40 litres of oil for the system (really expensive stuff over here in Sweden) Wish I'd read this forum before I started, but i got lucky the local lantmann (local farm shop)had an old 165 operators manual so was able to check how to do the change right. Found both drain plugs, and the filler (quite amuzing that, had me baffled for ages on how to fill the system until I was able to borrow the manual) Anyway to get to the point it has an Al-quick font loader on it. There is a lever on the top of the transmission casing to direct lift to the three point hitch on the back or to the front loader. After filling with oil (it took about 30 litres) the front loader wont lift. The back 3 point hitch lifts no problem but I cant get the front loader to budge, any help much appreciated.

thanks Phill

okay have solved the problem, or if I'm honest, my wife did. Asked a mechanic friend who said there was a 'tap' that needed to be released. Well the 'tap' ended up being a bolt on the left hand side on the top of the transmission case. It is about 23mm in size and is in actual fact a bleed nut. I turned it about a quater of a turn and viola the loader lifts. Hope this helps someone else.
