M F 1085 3 pt. won't raise

I have a 1085 that the 3 point arms have always worked. I put my round bale spear on the tractor and raised the arms and went to get a round bale, lowered the arms and backed into the bale and when I moved the lever to raise, ..... nothing. The arms would not raise and I can not find any problems. The external hydralics work fine and the filter is good and the oil level is on the mark. Thanks for any help. Fred Yochum (southern Ohio)

Will the arms lift just the bale spear without the bale on it.
