Worked in field 3 hours one day, 4 hours the next with heavy back blade. Lost hydraulic lift completely. Plus, PTO rotates/freewheels when manual lever is disengaged. PTO will engage with manual lever, but when load is applied PTO slows, loses rpms, and is basically inoperable. What's the deal? What's wrong? HELP!!!! PLEASE!!! Any recommended manuals?

It sounds like your MF175 has a two stage clutch and the pto clutch is slipping. I doubt you can help it by adjusting the pto clutch it usually has to be replaced when they stat slipping. The pto disc turn both the three point pump and the pto so with both quitting at the same time I would say that is your problem.

Where do you have the draft control set? On our 175 the draft has to be all the way up (to the rear, I believe) to be able to use position control properly.

PTO is probably a clutch issue. The 175 has two clutches (or I think they called it two stage), one transmission and a second for the hydraulic pump and PTO. Press the pedal half way to disengage the trans and all the way to disengage the PTO. It may just need adjusting.

Good Luck, JP.

A 175 could have either "Live PTO" (2-stage clutch) or Independent PTO.

Forgot something in the above--although lift arms are inoperable, they travel in the "up" position; if any load is put on them, they ride all the way down. Thanx

Sounds like the PTO clutch is out of adjustment(hopefully not worn out) it runs thru the hydraulic pump(same shaft).
