As suggested in previous post tried the adjustments to no avail. Still shifting on its own when fluid is hot and has no engine breaking as it does upon ititial startup.

You have either the the seals in the clutch pack are bad or the multipower pump is weak or maybe both when the oil gets hot and thins down it is bypassing someplace either in the clutch pack or in the pump. The way the multipower is designed when the pressureer drops below what it take the close the clutch pack for high range it will go into low range regardless of where the shift lever is at. Hope This helps

Parts are available for them from MF dealers and also from some of the after market place. I just completely rebuilt the clutch pack and replace the pump in one I could not find one of the old style pimps so I had to get the late style pump and late style pump mount. The parts cost right at a $1100 for these items need to rebuild it. this was about 3 months ago. If everything is not replace that it needs replaced it will not last long. You can buy a transmission with out Multipower for about $800 to $900 that will bolt right in place of the multipower transmission.

Thanks Dean, with the cost of fixing I may start looking for a transmission without the multi-power as I don't really like the benefits over the consequenses of not having engine breaking. Here in West Virginia everyplace I go is either up or down and having engine hold back is mandatory to keep you right side up. Thanks for your help.

Are you saying it slips into low on its own? That could mean a weak auxillary pump. Better talk to Big Dean.
