I found what i believe is a massey 30. The serial tag on the side of the frame says model 30. Only problem is she has a 6 cyl. in her. I didnt see any tags on the 6 cyl motor but i did notice a very goofy carb set up and it said carter on the lower part of the carb. The motor does not have the head and the tractor has been sitting outside for a long time. It does have a bracket that was used for a mounted winch on the back and has a hook bolted to the drawbar. Has heavy car tires on the front and 15.5 38 on the rear. This tractor is in the woods and i was told if i can cut it out of the trees i can have it for free. Is it worth the hassle or should i let sleeping dogs lie? I was just wondering if i came across some kind of rare set up here or if its just a mutant massey.

it might be worth the trouble. i was looking at one a couple days ago for $800 ran good but they are very top heavy trctors and flip real easy you hit a good sized bump while plowing just kiss it goodbye.

My standard model (28" wheels, wide front) does not seem top-heavy at all.

if you must cut trees to tow it out, sounds like 15 years of rust, shade, moisure, hobknob engine
swap, rotted rear rubber. better to pass on it.

Well if the rear tires are any count its worth pulling it out just for them. Good used 15.6X38s in my area sell for around $125-200
