First I love this place. I'm new here andhave spent a few days trying to id my new family member. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Problem is the serial #. I can't find it listed anywhere or I don't know how to read it. The only # stamped is on the top center of the transmission housing, right behind the levers. It is SL66005MM694. No stamping or plates anywhere else. Neither right or left side. It has a Z134 gas, with 3sp, hi & lo. Side decals say Massey Ferguson 50. It has the bird on the hood, which is chromed, not painted. Some castings are marked , such as sed bowl assembly, main frame, axle housings, etc. Please, someone tell me what I have and a year.
Also, anyone have a source for ROPS that would fit?
Thanks in advance.

I appreciate the input, public and private.
I don't know if I've shed some light or confused the issue more, but..... ..
I took apart the front end sheet metal, to clean and straighte. I have found, under lots of oily greasy dirt, what I think is original color. On the screen supports, where the grill scres to the hinges, a gold/copper looking color. It is also on the breather assembly, under a silver/gray coat.
MH?
Thanks again guys.

Hey Tim, Thanks for the info. My tag on the dash is long gone. That # is the only one that is stamped. Maybe someone can explain it. On the rops, I figure I'll end up having one made as well. The only one I found was $600 + freight. It was one from an industrial.
One thing, so what would be my paint colors?
Sorry for so many Q's, but I think I'm hooked.

well here we go again lol paint colors will depend on the year, if its a massey ferguson 50 it will be Red (sheet metal ) with a silver chassis but if its a massey harris 50 then the chassis is Gold instead of silver send me a email at [email protected] and i will send you pics of mine and you can send me a pic of yours , the Numbers you are seeing are part numbers almost every part has one stamped on it ,
