Hi folks,
I have a MF 135 diesel that has tons of blow by coming out of the breather tube at the front of the engine. I know that I need new rings, sleeves, pistons, ect and I plan to do that this winter when I don't need the tractor as much but is there anything that I can do to slow down some of the blow by until then. The stuff is nasty and after a few hours on the tractor I can hardly breath. The stuff stinks! Thanks in advance for any help. I know that there is no easy permanent fix for this but wounder if I could do anything in the short term to stay alive. The tractor runs great by the way. Tons of power and very little smoke out of the exhaust.

Don't know your rig, or whether this'd help, but on our old rattletrap/klunker cars we used to pull off the breather cap, put on a flexible hose, usually all the way out the back, with the exhaust, which generally had some oil smoke itself...

Hi

We have an old diesel tractor here with same problem

We put a car heater rubber hose from the engine breather pipe to the engine air intake hose between the air filter and engine intake manifold. This way the crankcase vapors are burned in engine.

We done it 3 years ago in order to repair the engine in the following winter....but we forgot it and it still running with the above mentionned setup. We will have to overhaul it soon it begins
to smoke too much in exhaust.

Jus my little 2 story

Yep
