I have a 1958 MF 65 that needs some adjustment. I have an IT manual, but it doesn't tell how to adjust the carb. My plugs are carbon fouled. The number two and three are even a little damp with gas. I need to know what screws do what on the carb. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Steve

Steve, you can find the instructions for MS TSX series carbs at:>Link
I>Link have just replaced the MS TSX695 on my MF65 with a Zenith. I had the same problem with Numbers 2 and 3 cylinders running rich (1 and 4 were ok). I used the instructions for the MS on the Zenith and it was a little lean. Enriching just a tad seems to be working. Hope thus helps.

On the Marvel-Schebler's I'm familiar with (the TSX -458) the power jet (the big screw coming out of the top of the fuel bowl) should be screwed 1-1/4 turns out from full closed.(Don't reef it down when you close it or you can score the needle.)When properly adjusted, with the engine warmed up, you should be able to accelerate the engine from idle to full trottle smoothly without the engine coughing or hesitating. If it hesitates, enrich it an 1/8 of a turn at a time until you get a smooth acceleration. If it shows a lot of black smoke out the exhaust, lean it an eight of a turn in. In no case should you go below 1 turn out. Hope this helps.

Well if its a M-S carb then the adjustment that is low on the carb is the power/mainjet adjustment and the one high on the carb is the idle. Been years since I have been around a tractor like yours but almost all carbs are the same as far as adjustments. Just turn the main jet in a 1/2 turn at a time till you find that sweet spot
