Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem and could advise how to fix. Basically the hitch goes up when tractor starts and stays until after ignition is turned off and fluid bleeds back. Is it simply linkage? Can it be accessed through the plate under the seat or do you have to go in through the side?? The plate under the seat is cracked too. Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks

The pump control valve is stuck that is quite common on those old tractors. You can usually unstick it by removing the access plate on the right side with the dipstick in it. you will see two small levers sticking up from the pump with a roller between them. Move those lever toward the back as far as you can and release it. it should spring forward and let the arms lower you might have to do that 3 or 4 time to get it free. If that does not free it up you will have the remove the liftcover under the seat and remove the pump and remove the control valve and clean it up or maybe replace.
