What kind of numbers should I get from a compression test on a 1958 MF 65 with the gas engine? I"m going to do a tune up this weekend and want to check the compression.
Also where can I find the timing marks so that I can check the timing? Can this be done with a light or is it just a visual?

Well my MF35 with Z134 Continental with 6.6/1 comp ratio is 140 lbs. You could use that as a guide.
Timing mark on mine is on the left side (for the driver) in the bell housing where the tranny bolts on. There is a rubber plug to pull out and the timing marks are on the flywheel. I'm assuming yours is similar, but I could be wrong.
Use a timing light.

I see no one responded to your query. Do you know what the compression ratio of the engine is? If it's in the 6 to 6.1 range like the Continental motors of that era, I'd say you should have no less than 90 psi with less than 10 psi variation between the cylinders for a warm engine and the throttle wide open.
