We have an older Ford V-4 industrial stationary, about 104 ci, sitting around on our farm, in good working order. I was thinking of finding an older massey, maybe a 101 Junior, missing its engine or with a bad engine, and putting this Ford in it. Now, our Massey 44 has an external shaft connecting the engine and the transmission, rather than mating the engine and transmission castings together. Is the 101 Junior the same way? I think it would be easier to rig this Ford into a tractor like that, with the external shaft, rather than messing around with bell housings. Also, how would the 101 take higher RPM's? We haven't put the laser tach on the Ford yet, but I would imagine it runs about 2000 RPM, possibly more. Or would I have to rig a gear setup to compensate for the higher motor RPM's?

Or am I just dreaming?
