2705 Clutch (again)

Finally got going on clutch. Found .015 to .020 wear on flywheel, .025 to .030 wear on pressure plate and, surprisingly, only about .005 on friction disk. Does that sound like enough to cause slippage or could there be something else wrong?

The old clutch and the new one are the same model. They are both not the same clutch as in the manual (newer self-adjusting?)

When I removed PP assembly from flywheel there was hardly any spring travel (explaining slippage). (Could I have just made an adjustment rather than replace friction plate and PP assembly?) Also found that forks were wearing on pressure plate and release fingers had wore into the friction disk.

Is there a trick to allign friction disk without an allignment tool?

Thanks again, JP.

Well, my new clutch does not fit. I bought one from Worthigtons for $300, PP assembly and clutch disc. Wondering now if I should have sprung for the $1000 clutch at the dealer.

Anybody had this problem?

Hopefully I can talk to the manufacturer tomorrow.

Any advice?

Thanks, JP.
