MF135 stalling problems

I've had my MF135 gas in the shop a couple of times, lots of work done, but the basic problem persists: The tractor will start instantly, run for 45 minutes or even a couple of hours, then the motor stalls out -- just quits running, little or no warning, won't respond to throttle, choke, etc. Then it will not start again. Until lately it would start after an hour or so, or overnight. Now it won't do that. I'm guessing it is something about the fuel system that cuts off the gas after things get heated up. Maintenance had been neglected before I got the tractor, but now has new filters, new battery, plugs, etc --- cranks great! I am not mechanically inclined and am going to have to get rid of it if I can't figure this out! Help please.

Could be the coil or condenser, I would suspect the condenser first. Alos, may be a plugged fuel filter from rust in the tank.

Hello Ken! Sounds like you have a coil problem- they get hot and the windings open up and it quits. When it cools down the windings may or may not get together enough to restore electical continuity. Hope this helps. Happy and safe 4TH! JIM

I have a MF 135 which has been great except...
Yes, the coil gets hot under a heavy load and can fail but, After many hours chasing coil, point issues for stumbling/stalling, I am now used to having it act up every spring after winter storage.
This gas tractor hates the new gas and gums up in the tank at the top of the sediment bowl. You can be convinced you getting plenty of fuel but a small gum ball forms and cuts the flow. Finally, I remove the bowl, and shut off valve, use some wire to ream it out, two cans of gum out and swear at the goverment regulations on new fuel. Usually, one or two tries cleans it up.

Yes, it would be simplier to use "Stabil" all winter Good luck
