I have also got a problem with my MF digger Back Hoe. The arm pivots round under its own weight when I release the lever I have a slight oil leak from the `cannister` which rotates the arm, does anyone know how this cannister works - is it simply a stub hydraulic ram inside or a hydrostatic motor? and is it possible to fit new seals? also I suspect the hydraulic pipes have been reversed, would this effect operation? or could it be something else?

Thanks Joe

The swing cylinder on the Massey hoe is a rotary cylinder. You either have some bad seals or a scored barrel. If you want to email me I will tell you what is involded in replacing the seals. It get a little drawn out for here.
