"72 MF 150, the 3-point wants to slowly raise (when using position control) while bush hogging. Gotta keep one hand on position lever all the time. Oddly enough, it does it more if and when I"m backing up. I made certain the top-link had plenty of slack. In fact, the lift raises WITHOUT the top link attached.

Normally, it raises just an inch or so, but last night, while using it, the lift raised all the way up on its own once. Not a safe thing at best.

MF Poor, it might be that the springs are out of adjustment and then they migrate down to cause it raise.

I'm guessing its stupid whatever it is. I'm sure big dean knows more.

The MF100 series the Draft control lever need to be in the fully raised position when using the Position control lever If not that may be causing your problem. If you do have the Draft control lever in the fully raised position then you have a master control spring problem.

Big Dean, I"ll spend a few minutes looking over your CD tomorrow on this subject. Until then, would a LOOSE master control spring be a likely cause? I can"t seem to keep it where I think it"s tight enough.

Hi Mr MF Poor

I control height with draft control Position control down
I put response control to fast
If the mower hit hard object it will raise immediately and avoid possible damage to the mower
and tractor.

Each operator has his own method
and may vary.

Have a good day

Yep
