my MF135 doesn't have the solenoid and wants to keep putting along when I turn it off hot, have to stall it out in high gear, solenoid is to prevent this

if that solenoid is like the ones on lawn mowers, it pulls a needle off a seat to open gas flow, you can cut the needle off but will then have the problem I have

Not sure where to start here. I am not aware of any wire going to the carb. There are many reasons a tractor will not take fuel. If my old man has anything to do with it, it is out of gas. Common problems are water in the fuel bowl, closed fuel valve, plugged fuel line or a clogged needle valve. If a wire smokes, it is shorting out. The only wires in the area of the carb are going to the generator/alternator. Insulate or isolate the wire as necessary. Hope this helps, but a little more information is needed to properly sort this out. Aaron

I made a mistake. The Perkins Gas had a solenoid on the carb. I had forgotten about it until I read a post on this forum. Here 's the post.

Just read that post! Funny part is my solinoid has not been hooked up for 3 years and it runs great? Another point in that post about rebuilding every 2000 hours on a 3 cylinder Gas Perkins is wrong. I still have the original engine in mine and it has a little bit over 9800 hours on it! Guess it pays not to listen to the dealers. Mark H.

I sold those bolts a while back. Now I wish I had kept them cause I have been using bolts to build stuff and they are big bucks to buy good ones! Mark H.

Thanks. if the solenoid goes bad would this make it not run/ Plenty of gas in it. Drove it back to the barn as long as I let it idle and keep the wire unhooked to the solenoid. Thanks In Advance
