Implements for an MH Pony?

I have a '49 MH Pony. No hydraulics. It has the PTO/Belt Pulley combination. The drawbar is in good shape.

I have some hay fields. I think I need a sickle-bar mower.

Will I need the MH sickle-bar mower made for the Pony or are there other sickle-bar mowers I can use?

Thanks,
Dan

Anything is possible? But looking at my sickle mower and the manual I have I would say it would be difficult.

Daniel

I should have said it would be difficult for me. It may be easy for you. I see Farmall mowers for sale every once in a while and you could try.

The manual I have says adjustments must be made per their instructions. Some of the parts used on the Massey mower that is described are pulley size, belt length, hinge coupling, inside shoe, front and rear coupling pins, gag dog, draw rod, coupling bar, balance crank shield, draw bracket, serrated mounting plate with serations facing forward, and lift chains.

Mower must lift straight up and wheels must be set at correct width,

Adjustments must be made for the cutter bar, tilt lever, shoe adjustment, and alignment of guards.

It seems complicated just to set up a mower designed and engineered for the Pony much less one designed for another tractor but it may be easy for you.

Even farmall Cub and Super A cultivators are not interchangeable.

Ken

I called Woods this morning. The lady said they've never made sickle-bar mowers.

I'm still looking...
