I have Massey-Ferguson tractor and the main drive shaft is broken and I would like to know how to break transmission down to get to the main shaft. Thank You.

There is a large cotter pin on that sleeve, when you remove the pin you can slide the sleeve forward, then the drive shaft can be slid rearward and out from the transmission, you must do this if you are removing the hydraluic pump also, good luck!

Is it the coupler to the rear end or the input shaft?

I am new to this game ok,,so bear with me,,,,we opened the plate right below the seat area on what would be the passanger side,,,as the fluid drainedwe saw a shaft that had a sleave around it ? The sleave is about6 to 7 inches long that went over a shaf There is a grove that runs around the sleave and that is what snaped on me. Any info you can send to me would be of great help. thank you roger

Don't weld the sleeve and the new sleeve must have a groove cut around it also. This sleeve keeps you from buying expensive ring and pinion gear sets.
